Canadian Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) was introduced on September 17, 2008. This program allows temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates to become Permanent Residents of Canada.
Under this program, it is evaluated whether or not a temporary foreign worker or international student is well suited to be the citizen of Canada.
International Graduates
All international graduates are welcomed, but they need to fulfill some predefined requirements to be eligible for this program:
He/she should have completed a program of study of at least two academic years at a Canadian post-secondary educational institution.
Obtained a degree, diploma, or certificate in their respective program of studies.
Obtained one year of experience in professional or technical work within 24 months of the application date
Have basic language knowledge, depending on the skill level of their occupation.
Temporary Foreign Workers
Applicants who are Temporary Foreign workers are required to meet the following requirements:
- Obtained two years of experience in professional or technical work within 36 months of the application date
- Have basic language knowledge, depending on the skill level of their occupation.
Applicants are allowed to stay in Canada throughout the application process. The Canadian Experience Class program is also open for individuals who meet the necessary requirements, but have recently left Canada within one year prior to their application.
