The Atlantic Immigration Pilot is a quick process for immigration and a path for qualified foreign employees and international graduates who want to work and reside in one of the four Atlantic Provinces of Canada:
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Prince Edward Islands
- Nova Scotia
- New Brunswick
This program was Introduced in 2017. By 2021 through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, the federal government and its provincial government partners aim to welcome more than 7,000 newcomers and their families to the Atlantic Canada region.
The pilot program is a component of a general strategy for Atlantic Growth that focuses on the following five key fields:
– skilled workforce and immigration
– innovation
– clean growth and climate change
– trade and investment
– infrastructure
This is an employer-driven program designed to help Atlantic Canada employers hire qualified applicants for jobs they were unable to fill locally.
To immigrate through the pilot to Atlantic Canada, you must be a recent graduate of an Atlantic Canada publicly funded institution or a skilled worker who meets the requirements of the program. You may be living abroad or temporarily living in Canada already.
In order to participate in the pilot you must receive a job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada.
If you receive a job offer from an employer:
- ask for a copy of the employer’s confirmation of appointment
- inform them about the Atlantic Immigration Pilot and ask them if they are not already appointed
